In celebration of the approaching St. Patrick’s Day, ArtBeat will be performing a mostly Celtic program of traditional and newly composed Irish and Appalachian music for violin and double bass, and violin and piano – sprinkled in with some contrasting styles – including Scott Joplin piano rags!
Founded in 2014, this husband/wife musical team ~ Dr. Mark Morton, Associate Professor of Double Bass at Texas Tech University, and Grace Marin Aguilar, Lubbock Symphony violinist ~ features violin and double bass, and also draws on their multi-instrumental talents to include various combinations of violin, guitar, and voice. ArtBeat doesn’t just play classical music concerts – but they do play classical music in our concerts.
